The new normal – ensuring safe and happy weddings
It’s no secret that the wedding industry has been knocked sideways with the arrival of Coronavirus, but as we approach each relaxation of the rules with caution, we are excited to move forwards.
Colchester Weddings has worked hard during lockdowns to ensure all venues can safely deliver weddings under covid secure guidelines and we are excited to begin to welcome our brides and grooms back into our beautiful venues.
At the Town Hall, weddings recommenced from 29th March though with limitations on attendance (max 6). From 12th April a maximum attendance of 15 will be permitted.
From 17th May, weddings at the Castle will recommence with a limit of 30 guests. The Town Hall will be working to these numbers also, subject to social distancing guidelines.
We want to help you plan a safe and happy wedding despite Coronavirus restrictions. As we take tentative steps back into our beautiful venues, we look at how smaller ceremonies can still be as magical and meaningful as the larger unions that our venues are used to hosting.
We have several intimate wedding venues which all allow for your guests to be socially distanced whilst still comfortably grouped within their households. Our focus is to create for you the ambience of your dream wedding day.
Now we understand that a small ceremony with limitations will not appeal to everyone, and that’s ok. We’re sure that given some more time, the rules will be relaxed step by step until we are back to maximum capacity. However, until then we are delighted to offer covid secure wedding ceremonies here in Colchester, for those who do not wish to wait to legally bind their love!
