Our team takes pride in hosting weddings within our county’s most historic and impressive venues: Colchester Castle, the Town Hall, Castle Park and Charter Hall.  These venues are owned and maintained to the highest standards by Colchester City Council.

About Us

In 2018, the Council established its wholly owned commercial company, Colchester Amphora Trading Ltd (CATL) to provide a range of commercial services to the council. This includes the delivery of events and weddings through the trading teams of Colchester Events, Colchester Weddings and Colchester Venues.

CATL pays the Council an annual fee to hire these historic and nationally important venues. All profits generated are ploughed back into Colchester City Council to support the delivery of services to the City’s residents.
